4 stars This is a very strong EP from Radiohead. This collection of songs proves how Radiohead were writing a lot of strong material at the time of Ok Computer. But don't listen to this expecting Ok Computer 2. On many of the songs on this EP, the band were trying a lot of new things, and increasing the use of keyboards and ambience on their recordings.

The album opens up with Airbag, the same way Ok Computer opened. However, this is a slightly different mix. The guitars are mixed a little lower to put more emphasis on the cello at the beginning. Theres a few other slight differences, but only someone who has heard the song a million times.

Pearly* is a very intense song. A fan favorite that hardly if ever gets played live. One of the most underrated songs in the Radiohead collection.

Meeting in the Aisle is sort of a precursor to what we would find on Kid A. Theres a bit of ambience similar to Treefingers. A very interesting and experimental instrumental track.

A Reminder is the weakest song on the EP. Not a lot to say about this one, pretty forgettable stuff.

Polyethylene is another very interesting song. It has changes in dymanics and temp similar to that of Paranoid Android, but it feels slightly patchy.

Melatonin is a short sweet song. Many different layers of keyboard sounds are used, giving the song a feeling almost similar to "Kid A".

Palo Alto is another fan favorite. Another hard rocker with some strange experimental elements included. So many things are going on in the background that it can be hard to keep up with. This is one of the most interesting things Radiohead has ever done, and it's a shame this song didn't make it on Ok Computer.

There is one song that is unfortunetly missing from this otherwise strong EP. That song is called "Lift", and was written during the same sessions, but has only been palyed a few times, and was never offcially recorded. However, this is one of Radiohead's best unreleased tracks, and I reccomend looking it up.

If Lift had been included, this would have been a 5 Star album. As it is, it's a solid EP with many strong songs, and serves as an excellent companion to Ok Computer. There is also a lot for prog fans to like on this album, making it an excellent addition to any prog music collection.
