4 stars An excellent dose of space rock. I just listened to all 3 discs in a row and there is very little if any to complain about. Showcased is material throughout Hawkwind's 30 year career and it is interesting seeing (hearing) how the band's sound has progressed and developed through the years. The accompanying booklet also offers a nice review of the band's career as well as a batch of old photos from down the road.

The song selection on the compilation is very satisfying. The only songs I'm really missing here are The Watcher, Reefer Madness and Gimme Shelter. The remix of Silver Machine is worth a listen but it can't hold a candle to the original. Aside from that, I'd like to say that there isn't one bad selection on here.

Being that this is a compilation, I would not give it the full 5 stars (a compilation 'a masterpiece'???). But it is a perfect way to get introduced to Hawkwind if you're willing to cough up the dough. This one will blow your mind and send you to space.
