Billy Sherwood has given us a nice return to DSOTM here. There are a lot of tributes to Pink Floyd, many of which don't work. But Return to the Dark Side of the Moon works because it stays close enough to the original not to upset, but adds enough nuances to make for a fresh experience. It'll provide a bit of variety in the rotation for Floyd fans. Billy, probably best known for his work with Yes, has brought a stellar group of musicians into the project, so it's well played. And the bonus original tack is very good. But while variety can be nice, we'll always return to Pink Floyd's original DSOTM.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲

A huge tribute to The Dark Side Of The Moon, a large collaboration between band members in different groups. I find that everything is very well played, the vocals are great, the production is good, everything is very well done. The songs are very well composed, but it's a Pink Floyd tribute so I think that it's going to be good from the get go, just because it's Pink Floyd. That's also one of the reasons I can't give this album a 5 star review, it's all covers.

Even though everything is well done, I just can't give this a 5 star rating.

Return To The Dark Side Of The Moon is a tribute album to Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon which came out around 33 years later. The album consists of many different musicians from a variety of bands and they come together to recreate the album really well. In a lot of ways I prefer this album over the original. Its more energetic, and has better production, and overall funner to listen too. However I think in some ways its worse, like the vocals in The Great Gig In The Sky. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is fan of this album, and Pink Floyd. I cant rate this the same and higher than the original though. I gave the original a 4/5. So I will give this a 3/5.
