3 stars In a huge work of Herbie, feelings relaxed very plainly in the age drift in this work. The album made from MilesGroup by the musician that becoming familiar is deep has been announced in the shape that is called "Trio 77" from this work in 1977 before.

Width extended in his direction further after Herbie took the synthetic music and the direction became one pronoun. At that time, two people ("Tony Williams" and "Ron Carter") gave the element to relax to Herbie further in the counterplan. The performance of the individual ..work with which the causing tension ..reaction.. overflowed.. had finished pushing "Trio 77" out to all aspects of an acoustic part in the work of Herbie in the 70's. A good performance that searches for the appearance of a performance each other further because this work is a second album in Trio and has lost one's strength is developed though feelings certainly relaxed in that existed. It is music that derived from "V.S.O. P Quintet" to Trio perhaps and the musician digested by the minimal factor mutually. It is thought that the superfluous flesh is one of the results of the little reduction, the drop, and reaching in the form that they think about at last.

This album that starts from famous "Stable Mates" that B.Golson composed gives the listener graceful time very much. And, tune "A slight Smile" Ron of one "Dolphin Dance" Ron of the tune of the representative of Herbie is a musician who begins to spin a good melody. Their trust exists here. It puts on four beats and Harmony of the "That Old Black Magic" medium tempo by Harold Arlen and the musician sings. And, chromatic progress demonstrates his ability from tune "La Maison Goree" that Tony composed at the end in the complexity or more.

This work is recorded in Japan on July 27, 1981. It is thought that their work and directionality are works at time when it derives on the way in the 70's (V.S.O. P), it digests by an original sense, and splendid, standard Jazz was continued.
