3 stars Astral Journey is a venture into the dark, cosmic landscape of deep space. As ambient as this album actually is, there are enough interesting elements interacting with each other within the empty drone of eternal blackness.

"Tangerine Nightmare" is an empty, spacey drone that sounds of vacuumed atmosphere, but not so much windy or loud. Galactic resonances sounding as if they were bouncing from the the magnetic poles of planets far in the distance from one another intermingle with the established airy drone and extraterrestrial growls.

"Comet Drifting Into the Sun" is slightly less soothing and cosmic, and sounds more like walking into an extremely busy laundromat powered with gas-powered generators, also with a small black hole in the corner of the room. It's very windy and overbearingly loud for an electronic space-ambient track, and sounds more like a chilled-out Merzbow track from the album Marmo. Through the windy effects are more cosmic growls that could be representative of comets plummeting into the sun's chromosphere.

For Phrozenlight's more ambient works, this album takes the cake for best one I've heard so far. Astral Journey sounds like actual time was taken to construct this album carefully, and if that is the case, then it paid off very well.
