3 stars Outstanding!

Following a Porcupine Tree direction, these guys did a great job indeed!

The arrangements are intelligent, based on 2 guitars, drums colored with an elegant timbre and complex structure, as well the bass, very precise and keyboards filling the whole songs with an amazing ambience. The vocals are not extraordinaire, but competent and I have no complains about it! Most of the songs are short. It's not a bad thing at all. They're strong, heavy and beautiful.

Downsides: I felt a little bit tired at some points of this album. I think that's because of the guitars, repeating that overdrive all along most of the songs, with the vocalist yelling something at times not clear (the vocals could be more high or the guitars could be low... I don't know).

Well, I give 3 stars. It's not an essential album, but it's very good and I recommend to all who like the Porcupine Tree style... Personally, I prefer this band than Porcupine.

4 stars I heard "Perpetual Loss" on Power Prog Radio online, and thought it had a really good sound to it. I went looking online for the group and found the entire album is free at Bandcamp. I liked every song on the 1st listen, and hopefully it will hold true for many more listens. The way the music flowed was really good, and for a debut album, I'd have to say Lithium Dawn has a bright future.

This album is not a groundbreaking album, but I'd be hardpressed to find fault with it. The guitars were very good, as was the drumming. I especially liked how the vocals were matched up real well with all the music. There was a few spots where I thought it was a little too repetitive musically, but I was really impressed with the musicianship and polish of a this 1st album.
