1 stars What a sad continue for a great group.. Avoid it... The remaining linup did not respect their music history. Not even for the funs of the group. The music has nothing to do with their music past.... Forget this album and stay to the three first ones..

2 stars Not the best place to start to explore the career of Pavlov's Dog. This was the first sign of life of the band since the late seventies. The album was issued in 1993 but it sounds like it was released during the eighties. The sound of the arrangements of the first albums were very colourful but here, it couldn't be more sober. The album sounds streamlined and cold and there's no variation ; the arrangements of each track are exactly the same. The violin has been replaced by a sax but these parts don't add essential melodies to the songs. What's left of Pavlov's Dog is the wonderful voice of David Surkamp. Although he sings in a lower tone than he use to, he is still a joy to listen to. The song writing is decent but nothing spectacular : plain & simple AOR songs. No traces of progressive rock can be found. The band did retain their talent for writing emotional ballads like "You & I", "Pantomine" or "Brown eyes" but don't expect the pathos of "Julia". I'm sure the tracks on this album would benefit from better arrangements but like it is now. the title for this album couldn't be more suitable. Strictly for die hard fans.

2 stars The most prog thing about this album is the artwork. Dark, enigmatic, makes you wonder about the complexity of the music contained... But the music is mediocre pop/AOR, in by far the worst studio album Pavlov's Dog ever released.

It was 13 years since the recording of "Has Anyone Here Seen Sigfried?" and 15 since the release of "At the Sound of the Bell". The transformation from the spectacular Crossover Prog of "Pampered Menial" to a mainstream sound completes here, in a manner that reminds me of Genesis.

The self-titled song "Lost In America" has the sing-along feeling that makes it a memorable song, bit the rest of the album is pretty forgettable; especially when you hope to hear something special, after 15 long years of waiting for a new album.

2 stars, as it's indeed for collectors/fans only.
