3 stars Not too bad, not too good. MORE HEAVY TRAFFIC is the point where the retrospective was due and the companies needed more mony. If you were to categorize the tracks from the album the came from, you might be surprised to see that 6 are from the TRAFFIC album. Over half the album can be gotten already on one vinyl! I assume it's because of the focus on MR. FANTASY on HEAVY TRAFFIC that there are so many here form TRAFFIC and so few from FANTASY. As for the other 4 tracks, they give you a little bit of something different to chew on. "Hole in my Shoe" is a non-album track from Mason, and call me biased to Winwood, but I can see why it wasn't on one before this. It certainly doesn't belong here. On the other hand, "John Barleycorn" is good as always, and was a wise choice to include here. "No Face, No Name, No Number" from their first album is a nice love song to an extent and is another good choice. Finally, a live version of the old Spencer Davis Group "Gimme Some Lovin'" makes it here. Why? I can't tell you. But I can see why they would want to put something rare on here. Is it the same as the one on CANTEEN? I haven't a clue, but overall, I would get that one if you're looking for a good live performance of Pre-LOW SPARK Traffic. Final Analysis: Get TRAFFIC (with bonus tracks) and bypass this release altogether. I'd give this one star because it is certainly for collectors only, but the TRAFFIC album is easily a four star album, and over half of it's here, not to mention "Barleycorn".
