5 stars This is probably my favourite track on the amazing 'Frances the mute' album. It quicks of with an excellent solo courtesy of the red hot chili peppers John Frusciante and then moves into a jazzy latin passage in the veign of santana. Quite simply this is a fine work of modern genius!

4 stars Hmm bit of a pointless addition to the site but oh well. I got the vinyl of this single, it's real neat. L'Via L'Viaquez is one incredible tune. The new track (an A side for some reason) isn't really up to their standards and is easy to see why its a non album track. it's kind of average but when you weigh it up the 10+ minutes of L'Via, which is the majority of this single, is amazing and the extra track is ok too.

2 stars Again, a non-essential single from THE MARS VOLTA. 'The Bible and the Breathalyser' is an interesting curio, but not a patch on the tracks included on 'Frances The Mute'. The version of 'L'Via L'Viaquez' included here is magnificent, but surpassed by the album version. And the video, while fine, is not anything outstanding, certainly not up to the standard of the wonderful 'Televators' video from their previous album. Completionists will own this, but there's no reason to get this instead of the fabulous album from which it is sourced.

2 stars "L'Via L'Viaquez" is one of my favorite Mars Volta tracks, and I consider tune it the best on FRANCES THE MUTE. Good mix of weird and rock good mix of English and Spanish lyrics. Added here is the video which is not bad. I prefer music without videos myself. The new track is "Bible & the Breathalyser" which is a perfect example of why I never listen to an entire Mars Volta album. I have never been a fan of "soundscapes" and "ambient" noise/music. There always seems to be something to skip over on any Mars Volta album and FRANCES THE MUTE has enough already without this being added. Collectors only. 2 stars.
