Paranoid Void biography
Founded in Osaka, Japan in 2013

Based in Osaka, Japan, three-piece math rock act PARANOID VOID were founded in 2013 and consists of members MEGURI on guitars and vocals, YU-KI on bass and MIPOW on drums. At first their style was an aggressive post-punk style similar to MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS. Although already technically proficient, they began incorporating unusual time signatures and math rock influences, similar in style to fellow Kansai region act TRICOT in 2015, in which they also released the single "Exit From the Void". The following year they released the EP "Pop Music" on the Apple of my Eye label, which showcased the band developing a more technical approach to their writing. In 2017 they released their debut full-length "Literary Math", which sees them deviating even further away from indie-based influences to a more jazz-oriented style, featuring complex compositions and a more minimal use of vocals.
