EKPHRASIS is an Eclectic Prog band based out of Avignon, France, founded in 2015 by Benjamin SAVARIAU. The original band began as a trio with SAVARIAU (guitars, vocals), Franck HERMANY (bass), and Clement PERNET (drums). The band released its debut album "Weird Interbreeding" in May of 2020. The album features the band?s combination of their many styles of fusion, metal, soul, jazz and other influences which creates a wide pallet of styles and sounds which also extends to the vocal styling that varies from clean to harsh singing. The band has cited their influences as RETURN TO FOREVER, PERIPHERY, ANIMALS AS LEADERS, Pat METHENY, Frank ZAPPA, LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT and DREAM THEATER.
