Kjol biography
Started in the mid-late 70's by Swiss guitarist/composer Heinz Affolter, jazz/rock fusion band Kjol had a rather peculiar identity for its relatively short existence. The original lineup consisted of Affolter, Brigeen Doran on saxophone, her brother Dave Doran on drums, and bassist Walter Stricker. While Affolter appears to be the compositional force behind the band, Brigeen Doran, was clearly the face of the band. In fact, they take on the name "Brigeen Doran's Kjol" on their sophomore release. It is on that release that Stricker is replaced by U.S. bassist Fernando Sounders.

Kjol play a classic 70's fusion style in the mode of Mahavishnu Orchestra with the primary melodic voice being Brigeen Doreen's saxophones. The band only released two albums: 1979's Take It On and 1981's Sunny Day
