Pestifer biography
PESTIFER are a technical death metal group from Liège, Belgium. The band were formed in 2004 by guitarist Antoine PATERKA and drummer Philippe GUSTIN, with his twin brother Adrien later joining on bass with vocalist Olivier PUTZ (aka Morty of SPECTRE). Together they recorded a demo in 2006 and PUTZ would leave the band the same year replaced by fellow SPECTRE bandmate Jérôme BERNARD. Guitarist Emerson DEVRESSE (also of SPECTRE) completed the new lineup in 2007 and PESTIFER subsequently independently released their debut, "Age of Disgrace", in 2010. The band caught the attention of Great Dane Records, which reissued "Age of Disgrace" in 2014 as well as their sophomore effort, "Reaching the Void". PATERKA left the band in 2016 and DEVRESSE the following year, to be replaced by guitarist Valéry BOTTIN. Now a quartet and signed to XenoKorp, PESTIFER released their third LP, 2020's "Expanding Oblivion", a concept album about a roaming, technologically-advanced alien species which interacts, absorbs and surveils all life it comes across as an omnipresent "supervisor".

Pestifer's style of progressive metal will appeal to listeners of OBSCURA, CARCARIASS, BEYOND CREATION, ODIOUS MORTEM, ATHEIST and VEKTOR.
