A Dying Planet biography
A DYING PLANET, a progressive metal band from Northern California, was founded in 2016 by brothers Jasun and Troy TIPTON (also from ZERO HOUR, CYNTESIS and ABNORMAL THOUGHT PATTERNS). Jasun is the principal songwriter and guitarist of the band. Troy was originally a bassist, but because of an accident where he badly injured his arm making it impossible to play bass, he was named the lead singer of the band. After recruiting Brian HART (bass) and Marco Bicca (drums), the foursome released its debut album "Facing the Incurable" in 2018.

After being a feature vocalist on the band's song "Resist", ex-SUN CAGED member Paul Adrian VILLARREAL was enlisted as the new official singer for A DYING PLANET and fully took over the duties for the sophomore album "When the Skies are Grey" released in September of 2021 while Troy continues to co-write lyrics with his brother Jasun.

A DYING PLANET's music is a dynamic progressive metal that flows seamlessly from ambient-like to heavy, djent-y sections. The music should appeal to fans of CYNTHESIS, ZERO HOUR, TERRA ODIUM, ABMORNAL THOUGHT PATTENRS, AEON ZEN, VAUXDVIHL, THE RETICENT, FATES WARNING and PYRAMID THEOREM.
