Intonate biography
INTONATE is a Canadian progressive death metal quartet from Montréal, Quebec. The band began as DEATHLEHEM in 2008, releasing an EP before changing their name in 2013 to the current moniker. The lineup, consistent since their refounding, consists of guitarist/vocalist Nicola NUCCIARONE (of RGRSS), guitarist/lyricist Ulysses FIORITO, bassist Jean-Philippe MATTE (of KEYS OF ORTHANC) and Nicola's brother Dominic on drums (also of RGRSS).

INTONATE independently released their 2016 debut album "The Swerve", which featured guest vocal contributions from SUTRAH's Laurent BELLEMARE, VENGEFUL guitarist Jean-Marie LEBLANC, CHTHE'ILIST collaborator François TOUTEE and original DEATHLEHEM singer Marcello TRUSENDI. The album would subsequently get INOTNATE signed to Willowtip Records, which released their 2021 sophomore LP "Severed Within", a darker and more diverse affair, this time featuring VENGEFUL and PHOBOCOSM vocalist Etienne BAYARD on the song "Within".

INTONATE play an atmospheric and technical death metal with an emphasis on basswork, and are comparable to SUTRAH, ULCERATE, OBSCURA, BEYOND CREATION, GORGUTS and FALLUJAH.
