Vauruvã biography
Formed in 2020, Vauruvã are a Brazilian progressive black metal band from Rio de Janeiro. Founded by multi-instrumentalist Caio Lemos as a spiritual successor to his defunct former project Kaatayra, Vauruvã play a style of atmospheric black metal following in the footsteps of Krallice, Wolves in the Throne Room and Negură Bunget, with occasional forays into Brazilian and indigenous folk music.

Lemos recruited performer Bruno Augusto Ribeiro as vocalist and lyricist for the band, once again solely handling all other instrumentation. Vauruvã digitally self-released their debut LP, Manso Queimor Dacordado, via Bandcamp in late 2021, and on compact disc through Pest Productions the following year.
