Jake Gotlieb's Banach-Tarski Paradox (originally known simply as The Banach-Tarski Paradox) is the one-man project of American composer, keyboardist and drummer Jake Gotlieb from San Francisco. Claiming inspiration from a wide range influences hailing from as wide a diversity of genres as progressive rock, Brazilian folk music, modern classical music and Hindustani music, Gotlieb's output (which as of 2023 spans four self-released LPs since 2020) is one marked by stylistic flux, as he and his array of sampled and live instruments have traversed on a path leading from synth-oriented heavy prog through jazz fusion before settling most recently on an intricate rock-in-opposition sound, somewhat comparable to either a chamber prog version of Frank Zappa, or to bands like French TV and Rascal Reporters if they had more jazz and medieval instrumentation and influences.
