Lomo biography
Lomo were a London-based jazz fusion band which was formed in 2002. Comprising the trio of drummer Simon Pearson, guitarist Mark Preston and bassist, band leader and composer Diego Kovadloff, the band specialized in a mixture of jazz and progressive rock with elements of funk and tango, described as "Allan Holdsworth on speed". Their debut album Painkiller was praised for its virtuosic drumming, unique harmonics and idiosyncratic guitar style, but the band's original run was short-lived and ended less than amicably in the same year as its formation. Two EPs featuring demo recordings were released in 2007, and in 2016, a new incarnation of Lomo under the leadership of Kovadloff and consisting of guitarist Nat Martin, keyboardist Jono Harrison and drummer Andy Robertson put out the band's first release of newly recorded material in over a decade.
