Ogród Wyobraźni biography
One of the top Polish rock bands at the dawn of the 80s. They became forgotten for many years due to lack of issued records. OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI (The Garden of Imagination) was formed in Ełk, east-northern Poland, in 1979 initially as FIVE BOYS including Jacek Olejnik on keyboards, Bogdan Łoś on guitar, vocalist Janusz Zapolski, Władysław Jankowski on bass guitar and Sławomir Chabski on drums.

One year later, after adopting the name OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI, the band won I Ogólnopolski Przegląd Muzyki Młodej Generacji (The First Polish Festival of Young Generation's Music) in Jarocin. The success enabled them to perform during the biggest rock festivals in Poland. OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI was very warm welcomed everywhere they performed: Rockowisko in Łódź, Pop Session in Sopot, Rock Jamboree in Warsaw. They became famous because of their magnificent, thrilling performances.

Unfortunately, the brilliant career of the band lasted only for a couple of months. Some problems within the band arose (drug addiction, death of the bassist because of that reason, personnel changes) which made the band break up in 1984. After the break-up of the band Jacek Olejnik and Bogdan Łoś joined DEEF and then EXODUS which in 1986 transformed into MAD MAX.
In 1988 the band reactivated with the line-up consisting of Jacek Olejnik, Bogdan Łoś, Sławomir Chabski and two new musicians, namely bassist Jarosław Fiebrich and vocalist Kazimierz Barlasz, which was also very short lived and lasted for only a few weeks (months?). Shortly after that the name OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI appeared again but this time it was a completely different band, led by Jarosław Fiebriech. This incarnation managed only to issue a limited edition cassette "List rewolucyjny" (Revolutionary Letter).

At the beginning of 2007 the band OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI has been recalled with a compilation CD titled "Świątynia dumania" (The Temple of Meditation) containing also two pre-OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI tracks of FIVE BOYS as well as three post-OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI tracks of MAD MAX. Those who attended concerts of OGRÓD WYOBRAŹNI claimed it did not give justice to the band but their phenomenon has been fully revealed with the live album "Live At Kongresowa" seeing the light of day in 2008.
