YTO Solreiser biography
YTO SOLREISER are an avant-garde band from Oslo, Norway, originally formed in 2004 by drummer Karl-Magnus BJORRØY and guitarist Thomas WANG, originally with the intent of creating a heavily improvisational death metal group. An early demo led way to heavy local radio play and the slow but steady recruitment of several instrumentalists for the recording of their debut self-titled record, released in April 2010.

YTO SOLREISER's sound is an extremely diverse mixture of many genres all encapsulated within a unique and solidified style. Ranging in everything from metal, jazz, and ambient to pop-funk, Intelligent Dance Music, and drum n' bass, YTO SOLREISER's hearty eclecticism, metal background, and adventurous compositions invoke comparisons to the dark, modern-day dadaists in SLEEPYTIME GORILLA MUSEUM and the genre-bending, open-minded nature of groups like SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE and ARCTURUS. A very unique gem from the more experimental side of the Norwegian underground, YTO SOLREISER are highly recommended for all fans of highly eclectic progressive metal.
