Probe 10 biography
Sounding like a band that might have existed a lot earlier, PROBE 10 released it's album of gritty jazz There Is A Universe in 1975. Formed by high school students in Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, the group succesfully incorporated instruments like flutes and trumpets in complex arrangements that make up for the lower production quality of this raw recording. Band at it's core was made of group's producer James MCGEE who provided the arrangements and played a wide range of instruments including guitar and bass, Jeff SAUSSIER on brass instruments, Bill JONES on electric guitar and Barry L. BACHMAN on percussion; providing the backing to this basic formation are a multitude of people on violins, flutes, Rhodes piano and a few vocalists. The band mates did not leave behind them a lot of information or other musical endeavors, only leaving us with names and on the back cover and a thanks to their true inspiration RETURN TO FOREVER.
