Renaud Louis Group biography
The story of this group of musicians leads back to 1997 and Renaud LOUIS's earlier trio JADE, which originally included Laurent QUANTIN on drums and Francois MUNIER on bass. In 1999 Eric EVANGELISTA replaces MUNIER on bass, and Laurent CANAS joins the band as a keyboard player. This quartet starts performing local concerts until 2000 when another change in the line-up occurs when QUANTIN leaves the band and is replaced by Alain BIDOT-NAUDE. This new quartet is named ILUNA and performs a lot of concerts around Paris and at Baiser Salé jazz bar; after this quartet they would name their first album in 2011. After a demo recording in 2001, Henri DORINA joins the band as a bass player and in 2006 CANAS leaves the band and is replaced by Guillaume ROUSSEL. This is the final line-up that went through material they composed over all those years and the band recorded the album Iluna in two home studios with the help of few associates. Iluna itself and LOUIS's guitar playing might be appreciated by people who like Jeff BECK, John MCLAUGHLIN and Allan HOLDSWORTH.
