Antennas to Heaven biography
While drawing obvious influence from the post-rock great GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR as evidenced by their band name, ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN are nonetheless a band that keeps from being too derivative. Essentially a duo from northeast England, Phil HODGSON is the lyricist and David SMITH does every other thing a band needs, music and vocals.

While being heavily influenced by their namesake, ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN seems to put more emphasis on glossier production and epic soundscapes shying away from the more modern classical elements GODSPEED has. Their music brings to mind EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and MONO?s atmospherics but also sounds reminiscent of the works of the more post-hardcore influenced bands in the post-rock genre.

Releasing The Line Between Myth and Reality Has Always Been in Finland in 2006 and Hermeneutics in 2007, the band drudged on into 2012 with their most recent record You Have 6 Weeks to Destroy Everything.
