Turing Machine biography
TURING MACHINE are an instrumental post rock band from New York formed in 1998 by guitarist Justin CHEARNO and bass player Scott DESIMON, who originally first played together in an art punk band PITCHBLENDE and drummer Gerhardt 'Jerry' FUCHS. The band had a steady career until 2009 when FUCHS died in an elevator shaft accident; his remaining studio work was incorporated posthoumously on the 'What Is The Meaning Of What' album on which Pat MAHONEY (LCS Soundsystem) and Brian CHASE (YEAH YEAH YEAHS) helped work on the unfinished album after FUCH's death.

The activity of the group is on hiatus; DESIMON works as an magazine editor and besides wine industry, Justin CHEARNO is also active musically with his other bands DOLDRUMS and PANTHERS.
