Rodan biography
RODAN was a post-hardcore and math rock band from Louisville founded in 1992. After changing a couple of first drummers, the group stabilized it's line-up with Jeff MUELLER, Jason NOBLE, Tara Jane O'NEILL and Kevin COULTAS. In 1993 they recorded their first demo under the name 'Aviary'; the songs featured on it would eventually be reworked and released on their studio album and EP. The band acted in movie 'Half-cocked' in 1994 and contributed to it's soundtrack. In the last couple of live performances they were joined by Jon COOK who was the original drummer after COULTAS left the band.

The group disbanded in 1995 when members went to pursuit other works; this led to foundation of other bands in hardcore or post rock genres like JUNE OF 44, RACHEL'S, THE SONORA PINE and SHIPPING NEWS which was created by NOBLE and MUELLER in 1996 and until NOBLE's death in 2012 featured Todd COOK from SLINT as a bass player.
