4 stars This almost complete live version of "Firth of Fifth" (but still without the piano introduction which was recorded in their "Selling Enlgand by the Pound" album from 1973) was recorded at the Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, 29th November 1981 during their "abacab" tour (from the same concert from which the songs "Behind the Lines", "Duchess" and "Turn It On again" were recorded and later released in 1982 in the "Three Sides Live" album). This is a very good live version of this song, and as I wrote before, it is an almost complete version of this song (because the band in later tours only played the lead guitar part in their so-called "Old Medleys"). This live version, in comparison to the version which appears in their "Seconds Out" live album from 1977, has Daryl Stuermer playing the lead guitar part, and other differences can be heard with respect to Phil Collins`s lead vocals and with Tony Banks`s keyboards, because by 1981 he was using "new" keyboads replacing the old Mellotron (which was used for the last time on tour by him in 1978) and with the use of a Yamaha electric piano replacing the old RMI electric piano which he used by several years on tours during the seventies. The recording and mixing of this 1981 live version is very good, and the same can be said about the playing of the song by all the members of the band.

This live version was also released in the "Turn in On Again-Best of 81-83" compilation album from 1991 and also as the B-side of the "That`s All" 12" single.
