My hero for the day is Sir Gilbert Thomas Walker, F.R.S., for being very radical for his time and being misunderstood by his peers.

He puts his name to "Walker circulation" and the "Southern Oscillations" and he understood some of the effects of what is now known as El Nino-Southern Oscillations (ENSO).
