Progressive metal "power trio" Trappist System Trio comes from Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The band was formed in May, 2017 by musicians of prominent local acts RETRIAL (Vladimir Kulikov – vocal, guitar) and VERGELTUNG (Dmitry Prilukov – bass, Evgeny Trefilov – drums).

The band was born out of desire to play 100% live music with no backing tracks in minimalistic (bass-guitar-drums) configuration. Having said that, the music is far from anything minimal – complex signatures and polyrhythm fly across uneven bar cycles, while the band stretches out with well-thought improvisation, not forgetting about song form and - first of all – catchy melodies. Band is actively performing live in Russia and Estonia.

The debut album ‘Arrival’ was recorded and mixed in diy band studio with guest musicians: Elena Feneva (SOPOR), Leonid Perevalov (YOJO, ROZ VITALIS) and Ivan Rozmainsky (ROZ VITALIS, RMP). Lyrics deal with themes such as ornithology, lycanthropia and circus arts. This album has been released in 2019 by Fono Ltd.
