Formed by guitarist Brendan Maine in 2017, Panegyrist are an avant-garde unblack metal quintet based in Chicago, Illinois. Visual artist Elijah Tamu would soon join, providing the lyrical and conceptual content that would define the project. Accompanied by Vincent Ippolito (guitar), Paul Moore (bass), David Cramer (guitar/vocals) and Marcel Szumowski (drums), Panegyrist would release their debut Hierurgy on I, Voidhanger records in 2018. The album "explores the theme of theosis, the process whereby the individual is transformed and united with God through the operations of the divine energies." Panegyrist are stylistically similar to Arcturus, Sigh, Emperor, Dødheimsgard, Howling Sycamore, Selcouth and Solefald.

What I think it means, is that it sounds like black metal, but doesn't have the "dubious" content some say black metal has.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unblack_metal

"Unblack metal (also known as Christian black metal) is a religious philosophy and subgenre within black metal whose artists either directly oppose the Satanism prevalent in most black metal, or promote Christianity in their lyrics and imagery... Unblack metal artists are controversial within the black metal subculture, because black metal's pioneers, especially those of the Second Wave, were anti-Christian. It is also suggested that Christianity contradicts black metal's dark nature and the individualistic and misanthropic ideals of many bands."

PS: Just a gentle reminder that the band origin in the newly-added entry reads "Finland" when it should be "United States."

I've heard of Christian Black Metal before, but I've never heard it called Unblack Metal, lol.
