Plebeian Grandstand are a French extreme progressive metal ensemble from Toulouse, formed in 2005 and signed to Debemur Morti Productions. As of 2022, their lineup consists of founding members Adrien Broué on vocals and Simon Chaubard on guitars (both formerly of Montreal on Fire) as well as recent additions Olivier Lolmède on bass (of black metal bands Mourir and Vermine), drummer Ivo Kaltchev (of PAL and Stuntman) and modular synthesist Amaury Sauvé.

Over the course of an EP, two splits and four full-lengths, Plebeian Grandstand have evolved from a blackened mathcore unit to a behemoth post-metal hybrid blending sludge, hardcore and black metal influences. After codifying their sound on the breakthrough 2014 album Lowgazers, and refining it on its follow-up False Highs, True Lows, Plebeian Grandstand recruited their producer Sauvé into the band, imbuing newfound noise and industrial influences into their heaviest release yet, 2021's Rien ne suffit.

Plebeian Grandstand's intense, forward-thinking style will entice fans of Dodecahedron, Altar of Plagues, Botch, Ulcerate, Noise Trail Immersion, Imperial Triumphant, Celeste and Frontierer.

"How Hate Is Hard to Define" (2010)

"Lowgazers" (2014)

"False Highs, True Lows" (2016)

"Rien ne suffit" (2021)

I enjoyed their 2021 album. Well, I say enjoyed. I’m not sure how accurate that description. A cacophony of sounds that worked for me. Definitely experimental. Definitely prog. An easy yea from me. Perhaps not so easy to listen to, though. This will definitely not be a lot of people’s cup of tea. But I have never liked tea. I prefer coffee. This is industrial strength coffee. ☕️

LOL I don't disagree with any of this (and I'm also not wild about tea). I think anyone who listened to Rien ne suffit endured it.
