BIO:

This German band from Hamburg was already active since 1988, initiated by both Peter Thiessen (Guitar, Vocals), who also used to play Bass from 1996 to 2002 in another band, called Blumfeld, and Sebastian Vogel (Percussion), who were childhood friends and musical partners. It wasn't until 1995 that they adopted the name Kante and enlisted bassist Andreas Krane and keyboard player Jens Vogt as new members, giving birth to the story of Kante as a full-fledged band.

^ OK, no problem. I chose Zweilicht as is my personal favorite, probably being Die Tiere sind unruhig my second choice. Zwischen den Orten still sounds a little uncooked, at least to my taste.

I love Kante (I'm from Hamburg actually). Zweilicht is a five star album in my book. Happy to see somebody from Argentina who knows them! But is it prog? Not so sure. I'm very curious what the outcome of this will be.

^ I was living in Germany by the time Zweilicht was still a fresh release, and somebody handed me a copy. As far as I know, they've never got any real airplay in my country.

I was sceptical but I have listened to my Kante albums in the meantime and I think they're indeed quite arty. They have some straight pop and rock songs, many of them quite melodic and relaxed, but also sophisticated unusual arrangements with much emphasis on acoustic instruments, elaborate instrumentals, strong deviations from standard song structures, some jazz influences. The first album has some strong post rock elements, in fact at least 50% of it is post rock as would fit the definition here. So I think they could fit, even though I'm not part of the team who decides this.

For example these, mostly instrumental:

Long form sophisticated songs:

Somewhat straighter songs, still special:

Added to Post / Math. We'll be happy if you add their discography.
