The Chronicles of Father Robin is a Norwegian progressive rock band
consisting of members from the bands WobblerTusmørkeJordsjø and The Samuel Jackson Five

The band plays an eclectic, adventurous and melodious form of progressive rock firmly rooted in the different explorative music scenes of the late 60’s and early 70’s. The fellowship was formed in 1993 and grew out of a joint interest in folk tales, mythology, fantasy literature and our parents vinyl collections. Over a span of 30 years the has band conceived their brainchild; the 3 album opus of Father Robin and his travels in the mythical world of Airoea.

The Chronicles of Father Robin emerged from the remains of the band Fangorn back in 1993-94. The classic bands and albums of the early 1970s progressive music scene was the main inspiration, alongside contemporary bands like Änglagård, Anekdoten, White Willow and Landberk.

Andreas, Jon and Henrik founded the band, and were the core members the first 4 years. In 1995 they spent a year on a Norwegian folk high school studying music and working out the main frame of what would become the full concept of the Father Robin trilogy.
On this school they met sound engineer extraordinaire Eirik Bekkeheien, who was also studying there. They quickly bonded and in 1997 the first recording sessions started at Bekk Studios in Jæren on the western coast of Norway.  The studio was actually a redesigned garage, but even if the recording room was DYI, Eirik's equipment was top notch high end gear, as it always has been.

After this the band grew with the addition of Regin on flute and keyboards, and Thomas on guitar.
We were now a five piece with all the possibilities that had to offer, and so we started to rearrange some of the old songs and work on new material.

The following years we went went back to Eirik and his Bekk Studios to record an ever growing bouquet of songs.
The garage was history, now we recorded in an old stone house and in a triangular shaped church.
In the church Eirik tried out his most megalomaniac ideas concerning number of microphones and where to put them to achieve the best sound.

After a session we would typically walk down to the nearby beach where the North Sea crashes in.  We discussed what we had done that day, but very often we started talking about what Father Robin would do next in the story we were continually writing.
Where was he really going? Which implications and consequences did the choices we made that day had to say for the road and songs ahead?

After the sessions at Jæren we recorded some final ideas at Andreas' studio, Vilthagen Studios. Here the last pieces of the puzzle fell into place with the contributions of Lars Fredrik Frøislie of Wobbler, folksinger Aleksandra Morozova and Krizla, the Lord of Ambience.

The impulsive creative process and "collective brainstorming" we started in 1993 has more or less been the same all along.
The ideas and the becoming concept has matured like an old wine.
We are now what we set out to be 30 years ago. Now we just need to make it physical.

And with you there to help us and the crowdfunding complete,
The Songs & Tales of Airoea will soon be here for everyone to enjoy.

I added the band at tagyourmusic.org, but I can't find any released albums. What's the name of the upcoming release? It's hard to tell from the homepage.

Ah, it's The Songs & Tales of Airoea. The album is nowhere to find on any of the discography databases out there. Why can't musicians/labels spend a little time uploading the info? It almost seems like they don't want anybody to find the release.

The album is on pre-order for June release. I added on tagyourmusic.org the link to the single on bandcamp. We will check this one when more songs and the album is about to be release with all the info on the songs.
