Soltion Science Systems is an American band that reminds me of King Crimson (let's say red era) but has many more influences. Their lyrics deal about scientifical subjects and are very clever (if you know what the hell they're talking about that is), the music is probably art rock, but I'm not so knowledgable about music to trully tell.
For those who not know them here are some free mp3's to download from their first album: http://solutionsciencesystems.com/daemon.html http://solutionsciencesystems.com/ (their site) I'll will send an e-mail if more of you think that this band would be a worthy addition to PA. Greetings, Autoband |

A very belated response...
Listening to myspace now... http://www.myspace.com/solutionsciencesystems EDIT: Oops, sorry about the wrong link, I tried to copy and paste without even looking back to see if the right one was there, or actually I thought I'd edited it (for some reason, I've been having some problems with the C&P functions of late). Art Rock... It's quite eclectic indeed... I wonder if this might be a good candidate for Crossover due to some elements (I think it's more than Prog Related) -- still listening. I like the album covers. Very enjoyable music. So yes, based on those tracks, I think it would be a worthy addition to the archives. Edited by Logan - April 24 2008 at 12:21 |

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

for those to lazy to click the link:
Solution Science Systems
Solution Science Systems is a full life-cycle research entity, encompassing all aspects of SSScientific development. The purpose of this Interweb node is to feature examples of our Bioelectric Aural Research Development (BARD) findings and other new developments in Sonic Reduction. The members of Solution Science Systems claim that they are not a rock band. The band insists that, in fact, they are a group of scientists under the employ of a corporation called Solution Science Systems to do phonotonic research. And even under a great deal of scrutiny, their web-site attests to these assertions. But a listen to their music (what they call phonoton byproducts of Bioelectric Aural Research Development (BARD) technologies) reveals them to be canny practitioners of an exciting post-punk, post-post-modern mutation of classic progressive rock. A modern updating of the power trio format, Solution Science Systems is the foremost proponent of SciRock or Science Rock, offering up all the complexities of Math rock, but with hooks, melodies, feelings, variety and wit. The SciRock sound is shockingly accessible, and even hum-able, delivering the visceral excitement of great rock and roll, as well as layers of intricate rhythms and arrangements, not to mention understated humor. their website is a great read also: (strange bs really) and a link to the album, more interesting.
I like the youtube songs somewhat. don't know which genre it should go, I'm thinking of Rush as reference. |

Pretty sure Red stylish indeed..wouldn't know what sub-genre, I'll continue listening. You can pretty much listen to the influences named below, and many very much coincide. Edited by cacho - April 23 2008 at 21:13 |

The website is part of a gimmick, just like the band members occupation.
Andy Tegethoff - Low-Frequency Oscillations, Synesthesiology (aka he plays the bass)
Kelly Shane - Rhythmic Pulsations, Hyper-Conceptualization (aka he plays the drums) Rob MacGrogan - String Theory, Phonotonic Transformation (aka he plays guitar, and probably sings) I wonder how long they will keep their website so strange, I don't think it does them much favour (though it is interesting in a way)
concept they work from is being scientists involved ina scientific studie about sound and phonotonics or something sound related
![]() some nice songtitles btw.
