We received an email wanting to know why Akercocke were not on PA, as "They are surely the most progressive band currently recording".
I found this previous thread http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=24748&KW=Akercocke&PID=2027118#2027118 that I would have used and bumped, but it was locked as a part of M@x recent attempts to speed up the site.
I see that they were rejected on www.progfreak.com. I know nothing of this band. I assume that it is safe to respond to the email that the band was rejected for inclusion on PA, and that this rejection is pretty concrete.
Thanks,
Scott

I honestly always just saw them as a death metal band that moved into blackened death metal. Progressive elements set them apart from the rest, but it was always just more the "prog elements" factor rather than actually being proper prog death metal.
I agree with their rejection and just tend to think they belong in the metal sites as just a more experimental and slightly more out there death metal project. |
