Maybe not Prog Metal in the strictest sense, but definitely Prog related.

Their latest album is definitely prog metal. I'm not sure about the rest though.

Let's say they had a progressive-like vibration on their debuts without being a 100% progressive band.

Amorphis were rejected by the Prog-Metal team, and the majority of the votes was negative. Admittedly, it was some time ago, and some of the people who voted have left the site. However, it is not usual practice here for a team to re-evaluate rejected bands, and I don't know what the current members' opinion is now - with the exception of The T, who would very much like to see them included (hopefully he'll chime in sooner or later). They could be suggested for Prog-Related, though, if you find a Special Collaborator willing to sponsor them with the Admin Team.

Edit: There have been a number of threads on Amorphis over the past few years... Check this one, the most recent:

I think they would better suite Prog-Related, but on the last two albums became quite prog metal, with more complex song structures and different rhythms and things like that. Plus the fact that they try to experiment with new sounds and styles on every album (the last three are quite consistent though), especially Tuonela and Am Universum, which are rather psychedelic and 70-ish.

On a side note, there are quite a few bands that sound less prog but are included anyway (but of course, bands should be judged on their music, not by comparison...)

Personally I find the new album plain pop-metal. The melodies are simple and easy to the ear. Songs like The Smoke are made precisely for radioplay and the rest don't come close to progressive rock. This is my opinion, and I hope they won't be reconsidered on these merits.

I´ve supported the idea before. I´ve always found Elegy to be a progressive album. I´m not an expert in the rest of their discography ( I have only heard the first four). If you wan´t to suggest them for prog-related I would suggest that you PM The T ( member of the prog metal team) and ask him if he would champion the idea and bring it to the attention of the Admin team. As Raff said he has shown great interest in getting them added in the past and you will need a special collaborater to suggest artists for prog-related. Be sure to have your case ready though. Collect sound samples that you feel represents Amorphis most progressive sides ( or write down the songs or albums that you feel the admin team should listen to in order to make their decision). Well prepared evidence means that the admin team will listen to the right songs or the right albums instead of relying on myspace or official homeside samples only. They rarely represent a band at their most progressive in my experience. Good luck with the project I hope you pull it through.
