just want you to listen to this band and see what you think

i just have found a treassure cave of norwegian avant metal/rock bands that i will bring to evaluation

this is the first one

hard to find samples but again Spotify save the day

http://open.spotify.com/artist/7LgffeFH9btZkZPUQjMlk6

http://itunes.apple.com/se/artist/dodsverk/id251847971

like Cardiacs they have a pedegry of punk but is very avant and heavy as well, and ather elements that is very progressive in a metal setting

you might get your socks blown of Tongue

don't be put of by them singing in native tongue Tongue,

sorry if this is an ileagals page, but they have no samples on youtube or myspace so this is also the best i can offer to listening tool

fans of Kayo Dot might like this, also fans of Cardiacs, and Mars Volta,

they also would apeal to fans of both eclectic prog, avant/RIO and jazz fusion since they have jazz ala Shining on the first album, noisy jazz, dissonance vailing

Nothing illegal about gogoyoko, agi - it's quite similar to myspace in some respects, and you can read all about how it works here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gogoyoko. Originating in Iceland, it focuses far more on independent and grassroots music than the 'big boys' do, and especially the independent and underground music of that country and other Nordic countries. You have to sign up with the site to stream the music though - it's not quite as 'open' as myspace, though it is completely free.  Smile

could the ZART team also look into this, as i see a heavy band like Shining is in rio/avant, then this band might also be qulified for the ZART team to look into them as they share as much relation to ZART as they do towards PMT,  just saying they fitts into more stables then metal stable, thye also fitt into avant sub, also quite possibly eclectic

Shining is probably in RIO/Avant instead of one of the metal subs because their first 3 (or maybe 4) albums are mostly jazz

Listening on gogoyoko, and this is a very good band.  It makes interesting, quirky, progressive, and quite complex genre blending music with a kind of metal I like.  The Shining is another I like -- not just for the jazziest stuff..  At times Dodsverk reminds me of a more alt. metal version of Hoyry-Kone.  It's a pretty eclectic and interesting blend of music.

I would think the experimental metal best for this avant metal band based on that listening, (they were thinking about having a category called avant metal at one time as I recall), but this is something that would appeal to many Avant category oriented people.  Great find.

Rather surprised this isn't in PA yet, in fact.  I know I've heard the name before.

By the way,  due to the number of suggestions that teams have to deal with commonly, I think it generally better to wait for one team's evaluation (assuming the evaluation doesn't stall for a long time) before bringing it to another team.  However, teams are free to evaluate what they want, and I have sometimes turned to different teams for their opinions.  You can always PM a team member, but mention if it's already under evaluation by another team, but I really think this one should go through the Prog Metal team first.  If they happen to think it better for Avant Prog, they will alert the other team anyway.

Cleared for Prog Metal agi, you should find them in the archives sometime pretty soon. Smile
Unanimous decision too - you can check it out here: http://progfreak.com/D%C3%B8dsverk-153027.html?path=pa/recent.

How long is a piece of string? Ermm
According to progfreak, Prog Metal team have 9 cleared artists awaiting addition, 16 'new' suggestions still under evaluation, and 9 other evaluations being discussed further. They are fairly busy at the moment, it would seem, but Andy may be able to throw more light on this when he next checks in. Thumbs Up
