"Deep Feeling" is a little known, UK prog-rock band which recorded only one album (selftitled) in 1971. They mixed old shool psychedelia, heavy prog, folk rock and even classical music. Lots of good guitar/keyboards (piano/organ/harpsichord) interludes. For fans of early British prog rock it's a must!
Especially their instrumental - "Classical Gas" is a fantastic track (later it was re-made by "Beggar's Opera", but Deep Feeling's version is so much better). Another great track is "Guillotine". Highly recommended. Wow! - What a fantastic find!!
Totally agree that this one is a must for the site. Not sure about the sub genre, but I guess Eclectic is a pretty reasonable starting point. Well done indeed for digging this one up! Edit: Not to be confused with another UK (Proto-Psyche) band called 'Deep Feeling' which ran from 1966-68, & who were previously known as 'The Hellions', a well known Worcester-based band which had included guitarist Dave Mason. Deep Feeling were fronted by former Hellions drummer/vocalist Jim Capaldi with the other members comprising of lead guitarist Luther Grosvenor, Gordon Jackson on rhythm guitar, bass guitarist David Meredith and drummer/vibes player John "Poli" Palmer. They did one album called 'Pretty Colours'. Jim Capaldi went on to form the first line-up of Traffic of course, with Steve Winwood, a line up which also included Dave Mason who had not been part of 'Deep Feeling'. You can read all about this 'Deep Feeling' here: http://www.brumbeat.net/deepfeel.htm.
