Much more info here: http://www.politeforce.com/releases/the-polite-force-1997-canterbury-knights/, and a forum devoted to the band here: http://www.politeforce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=69. Just some samples needed really...  Ermm

i'm finding zero sound samples on The Polite Forces one and only archival album called Canterbury Knights. I would imagine that it may be the reason it's not on this site yet, but it seems to be a legit Canterbury group for sure.

The album is stilll avalable to purchase (eg Amazon.co.uk: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=the+polite+force+canterbury+knights) and if it was just a few quid (or bucks) I'd buy it and rip it to mp3...but the cheapest offer at the moment is over £20 including postage...and I ain't in for that! I'll keep my ears and eyes open for something cheaper though.  Smile

Yeah, i hear that. The album rates poorly on RYM so there a gazillion other albums i would rather spend my money on. This seems like a definate candidate though. Do you ever include artists without a listen simply based on the universal consensus? I suspect the answer is no but wtf. Love the metal santa!

Yeah - the answer is 'no'. Every band or artist has to be evaluated by a team of volunteers who are deemed by admins to have the required degree of expertise in their chosen sub genre, and for an evaluation to happen, sufficient samples of the music have to be made available for the team to be able to make a valid judgment. In the site's infancy, I believe that artists could be added by an individual acting unilaterally...just so that the database could be built up from scratch fairly rapidly...and that might account for some of the more 'dubious' inclusions here, but these days it is always a team process, based on a thorough listening of the actual music of the band or artist concerned. Once a band or artist is added, the only person who can delete them is the site owner, so the process has to be a fairly rigid one.   Smile

Second track on this episode of this guy's blog is supposedly a song from the album.

If my math's right, it should start at 7:15 but I can't tell if that's a new song or not.
