Topic: Amorphis = NOT DEATH METAL Posted: March 09 2007 at 22:51 |
This thread will not be remembered as the most productive or most visited I have created, but it's necessary. I just have to say that Amorphis, the band, is NOT DEATH METAL ANYMORE. Hear TUONELA, AM UNIVERSUM, FAR FROM THE SUN or ECLIPSE. You'll hear Hawkwind, Floyd, some psychedelia, and hard, heavy metal, but almost 0 DEATH. That was only till TALES FROMA THOUSAND LAKES. Thank you very much. Have a nice day. Eat your vegetables. Just don't become one.

Thanks T!
(I have Tales and Tuonela. They're quite nice.)

Too bad the quality of their music also dropped with the disappearance of the death metal influence.

Not really, no. It's too boring to me. Their latest album is not bad, but I could easily live on without hearing it too. I should remember to experience Am Universum though, The T talks about it a lot.

Maybe you'll like it better than Tuonela, it has more...energy? Maybe it won't seem as boring to you as Tuonela. I just love the band, anyway.

Love them too, but for me it's Elegy that I find still the most appealing to me (and to my wife) followed by .... 1000 Lakes....
