Orange Goblin's first three albums are quite good, kinda like what Captain Beyond would have sounded like with Tony Iommi on guitars. They kind of got less interesting when they afterwards dropped most of the psychedelic elements afterwards, then again they had perfected that part of their sound on The Big Black already and might have had to go somewhere else. At least they're still fantastic in the live setting.

There's a newer band from the US called Wo Fat, named after a method in traditional Chinese medicine, who kind of take the trippy psychedelic side of Orange Goblin and go even further down that direction though.

I actually think Red Fang do a better job at what OG have been aiming for on recent albums.

I like some of Electric Wizard's stuff, most notably Witchcult Today, I just find that while they have a really cool sound their actual songwriting is pretty hit-and-miss. Often they focus on the textural dimension of the soundscape to the point of forgetting a sense of forwards momentum and narrative structure, though they've improved in that regards on their newer LPs.
