Yes Per Wiberg certainly lets it rip on the organ in that opener and it's interesting that Anekdoten only have three tracks in their discography over 10 minutes including that one. At least from studio albums.

Another mention of The Great Unknown, cool, and Karelia continues to lead with Nucleus second. Nice to see the last four album openers getting some love.

Weird thing for me was that I liked the later openers better than the early ones. Some insanity on that Nucleus album though. Thanks Paul!

I love this album for the way they seem to extend everything and jam. It just sounds so good.

You and Sleeper pick the opener off of the debut which I thought my win this poll. Again like the "Nucleus" track we get lots of sharp edges if you will.

Man they really had the angular guitar and powerful sound going on in spades with that album.

Shooting Star. The whole new album is incredible and one of the greatest post-2000 albums. |
I can't disagree with those statements, they really hit one out of the park with "Until All The Ghosts Are Gone". Shooting Star or Monolith would be my runner-up to The Great Unknown.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for my next Syn-Phonic order to get the new one, but I think I'm going to go with the opener from `A Time of Day' and choosing `The Great Unknown' myself, John! Nick B's vocals were sounding confident, and those Mellotron blasts hit beautifully after the chorus each time! |
That was my pick and I really like the lyrics too.

I listened to these songs in the order they came out and I did prefer From Within to the first two by quite a bit.
