Ditto to the above! (But I actually love Kansas about as much as Rush.)

Rush never did anything for me; I consider them to be completely overrated epigones. Kansas are in my opinion lukewarm; they just bore me. Nektar on the other hand are an interesting attempt to combine symphonic prog with space rock. I especially love "Recycled"; I think the attempt works best on that album

Nektar. All three bands have had periods of being corrupted by commercial interests. Only one band made Journey to the Center of the Eye, and that's the one that got my vote. For the record, I don't hold Recycled in the same regard as many other people do, and I don't like Larry Fast's contribution to it, but the debut is just one my all time favorites. (BTW, I don't quite see how Nektar were "heavy", but, hey, no big deal).

Was heavily into Kansas and somewhat into Rush back in the eighties. Not much interest in any of these three now, but if I was picking one it'd be Nektar.

For me, this is a choice between Journey To The Centre Of The Eye (Nektar), Moving Pictures (Rush), and Leftoverture (Kansas). Of these three albums, I have a clear preference for Journey To The Centre Of The Eye (Nektar). |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

The Necromancer... 'nuff said.. doesn't even matter they went downhill for 40 years after that ... they gave us THE ultimate in D&D prog so they get my vote.
