Inspired by that other poll, these are the first two that sprang to my mind.
"Winter is a Coloured Bird" Two versions of "Winter is Blue" |

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.

Very nice song, I love Kate Bush. Glad you posted it.
Incidentally Art Bear's Winter Songs, which was mentioned in the other poll is another of my favourite winter albums. Not a song, as it's instrumental, but another favourite of mine is "Winterlied" from Toto Blanke's Electric Circus. |

I guess you're too much of a testosterone fueled stud, Micky, to fully appreciate my folksy offerings. ;)
I'm more of a folky than a rocker, but Black Sabbath is a band I like and Snowblind is a great song. "Snowblind" actually makes for very interesting contrast with the gentle, simple and pensive beauty of "Winter is Blue" (the first track of it I posted). |

I like that song too. Of my choices do you have a preference? To be clear, this poll was inspired by another poll entitled Two winter songs There are lost of winter songs I like, but I wanted to stick with two to parallel that other poll, and the two I chose are very special to me. |

I love both, but I'm voting for Winter is Blue right now as I find it very poignant and moving (the shorter version).
"Winter is Blue" is the Vashti song featured in the "soundtrack" for Tonite Let's All Make Love in London that prominently features Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive I expect some of you have seen the sort-of documentary https://vimeo.com/111691128 EDIT: I had a big pic of the album cover, but then noticed that the image includes large breasts with enormous nipples, and so will merely provide a link for those over 18 and infants (or from places where such, and to people where, nudity is not an issue). It was the swinging 60s.... Edited by Logan - January 06 2017 at 14:16 |
