Topic: More disco: Goblin's Tenebre vs Automat's The Rise Posted: March 21 2018 at 16:42
Automat was in one of Meltdowner's disco series, but I wanted to pair it with another fave of mine, Goblin's Tenebre.
"The Rise" is the first part of a side-long suite called Automat off the album of the same name, and I would have liked to do the whole thing, but that becomes a lot of listening for people who dodn't know it. If interested they can always explore more.
Please vote and list your choice and make any recommendations based on the music I listed.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Thanks for the replies, and great that music was discovered that was enjoyed (that's what most pleases me if I do a poll). I love both of these, but the Goblin is preferable to me today. I actually had wanted to put it up against another track -- not because I don't love Automat, but because I din't want to duplicate choices from the Disco poll series. There was one piece of music I had in mind which was Goblin related as I think it involved Fabio Frizzo or one of his collaborators, Bixio or Tempera (maybe a Bixio/Frizzi/Tempera work but then that tends to be more funk), but I couldn't remember what it was and didn't want to spend ages searching for it. Some kind of Italo space-disco soundtrack music perhaps. Certainly wasn't from the "classic" movies Shark and Blastfighter which are more electrodisco. It will come to me.
Think I might do a jazzy-funky soundtrack series starting with some Alain Goraguer's La Planete Sauvage and Karl Heinz Schäfer's Les gants blancs du diable, then Morricone etc. (such music is my wheelhouse).

Yeah, I voted for it too despite loving Automat. It's one of my favourite themes, it could even stand alongside the terrific "Suspiria" with its head held quite confidently.

Only heard Goblin, based on this thread I don't want to hear the other one.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
