I'm big fan of both bands, but Genesis' A Trick of the Tail is one of my fav albums ever and my fav al times Genesis abum, Minstrel comes only as third or forth best JT album, at least to me

Minstrel. I haven't heard whole Trick album for ages, and there's a reason for that.

Song to song, Minstrel. Album to album, Trick.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Minstrel (I'm wondering if I'll ever vote for Genesis in a poll....maybe Phil Collins vs Madonna, who knows?)
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I have to go with Tull this time. Minstrel is indeed an outstanding album, and above Trick of the Trail, but not by much.

Whether it is the song or the album, I vote for Tull.

I prefer Minstrel. Both are five star albums though.
