This thread fits into both recommendations and featured album categories as I'd really like to know more about this band and album, since there is very little information about them, and also I'd be very glad if anyone could recommend me something in the same vein.

I really love Kestrel's album, it's one of the better examples of prog related in it's finest. I don't have any more info about them except for what's on this site, and other reviews I once read that offered pretty much the same info which I think you already have.

They are Definitely recommended to prog heads who don't mind a little more accessible tunes with intricate arrangements, a thing that is very in common with other prog related bands.

For other bands in the same vein I would recommend:

Galaxy - They are progier but very reminiscent
Steely Dan
Saga - early period
Be Bop Deluxe - might work only it's much more guitar oriented

I'm glad there's a thread about them. Here they are...

^ I'm glad you like it John, this album is certainly worth having. Excellent songwriting, beautiful melodies, and a lot of intricate instrumental playing. Beautiful mellotron chords too.

Thanks for the recommendations sagichim, I'm a huge Steely Dan fan, the rest sounds promising so far.
