Thought I'd seen (and/or participated in) this one before, but I can't find it, so here goes:

List your top 5 (or 10) favorite Jeff Beck songs.

Mine:
1. "Going Down"
2. "Freeway Jam"
3. "Cause We've Ended as Lovers"
4. "Beck's Bolero"
5. "Definitely, Maybe"

Blue Wind
Scatterbrain
Led Boots
CWEaL
El Becko

Seeing him live was always the real treat, one of few players where you never knew what he'd do or what revolutionary technique he'd spontaneously invent.

Jeff's 1989 album Guitar Shop with Terry Bozzio and keyboardist Tony Hymas (no bass guitarist!) is fantastic! "Stand On It" and "Big Block" got airplay.

Great guitarist....(not a great nor prolific 'songwriter').....but for me the 2 Jeff Beck lp's with Middleton..
all of the first and a few from the second...I like the early things like It Aint Superstitious and Becks Bolero(Page)...but I like his work with the later band much better.

1. Got the Feeling (4:46)
2. Situation (5:26)
3. Short Business (2:34)
4. Max's Tune (8:24)
5. I've Been Used (3:40)
6. New Ways Train Train (5:52)
7. Jody (6:06)
1. Ice Cream Cakes (5:40)
8. Highways (4:41)
9. Definitely Maybe (5:02)

Thanks for posting that Star Cycle video. Never heard this one before.  Beck, Jan Hammer & Simon Phillips. Pretty amazing line up!

Jan's on the album, too. Jan played with Jeff about as much as he played with Al in those days, maybe more.

And on bass in that show is another Jan Hammer Group alumnus, Fernando Saunders!
