Both these artists sit side by side in the top 100 CD`s Arena @ 84 and Kansas @ 85  Hate to say it but I`m a little cynical about the top 100 ?  Confused

Wow very different styles, it's hard to compare. I personally like Arena's The Visitor more, although that in no way is a slight to Leftoverture.

Both are brilliant albums and deserve their spot in the top 100.

I like both a lot, but side by side it's no contest for me.

Kansas' Leftoverture

Vote for Arena (just because it got one vote less than the Kansas album), but the Kansas album is also very good, as tuxon says, equal (and that's what it is now, 4-4)

No contest here. Kansas' album has four good songs, while Arena's is a masterpiece of neo-prog with anthems like Crack in the Ice or Enemy Without.

Great songs and long song too  >> The Wall , Miracles out of Nowhere, Cheyenne Anthem,Magnum Opus
Good Songs though a combination  AOR &  Prog   >> Opus Insert , Carry On Wayward son ( voted as the best AOR song ever a few years back, lots of people love this song)  & Whats on my mind
Fair Song   >> Question of my Childhood

I voted Leftoverture  its my favourite  CD  of all time  and introduced me to prog.

I like Arena but they never been in the same class as Kansas were in their prime ... not even close !

I would consider Arena a slightly above average Neo Prog band   thats about all.

Meh, Stonebeard's not into Kansas anymore, Toto. Wink

Embarrassed

Might get a few albums at once, if they're cheap. They're just never in my mind.

VERY tight poll for me, though the albums are pretty different.

Today Visitor, next week  may be Leftoverture.

Kansas Leftoverture....

Arena's Visitor somehow never quite did it for me...

The Visitor. Mitchell's guitar work is mind-blowing on that album.

Never heard Leftoverture, and has yet to get the deluxe edition of Marbles. Stoney, there's a hole in your life, my friend.

I cannot choose simply because the music of these two bands is too different IMO; anyway I enjoy both albums a lot. Kansas - Leftoverture is one of my all time favourite albums.Big%20smile

As much as I like Arena, the choice is very easy : Leftoverture is one of the most beautiful albums I had the luck to listen to ... A MASTERPIECE if there is one
