i think that they shoul be on progarchives.thei music is progressive.they have constant rythm changes and they combine different styles of music successfully.i dont think they should be considered nu metal

Sure, they incorporate prog elements in their music, and they are definitely unique, but they aren't a prog band.

Sounds like teenage trash to me, as well as political propaganda. Lies lies lies.

Quite dreadful music in my opinion. So what, every one of their
songs has soft melodic parts and then suddenly switches to poltical
rambling and shouting. Not that I ever like a "Is this prog?"
conversation to begin with, but for my money, prog is much more complex
and deep than the dribble System of a Down releases.
Unique? Kind of... Original? In some ways (although the whole shouting angst, "I'm pissed off" trend among hard rock these days is totally cliche)... Prog? No. Just because their 4 minute songs have distinct parts that contrast each other, that doesn't qualify as progressive. If SoaD is prog, then Metallica must be too. And then we go on the evil cycle of classifying any band that has variety or originality as "prog rock." No, the "prog" classification is much more specialized. But hey, most prog bands don't even like to be classified as prog. |

I
say their first three albums are generally not prog (although they
contain a few proggy moments), but their two newest (Mezmerize and
Hypnotize) are, in my opinion, at least prog related, if not prog
metal. Just look at songs like Vicinity of Obcenity, Question!,
Revenga, Radio/Video, Old School Hollywood, and This Cocaine Makes Me
Feel Like I'm On This Song. They're all definately prog with little to
no poltitcal lyrics.
