What do you think about this project? Do you consider them progressive metal?

I'm listening to it again right now ... I'd say it's a combination of Alternative Rock and Atomspheric Nu-Metal. Sure, it's somewhat experimental ... but the song structures are quite mainstream. And complex time signatures ... come on, it depends on how they're being used, they're not progressive per se.

Mer De Noms is a good LP.  In fact I was just listening to it this morning.  But Prog?  Naaaah.

They really don't belong on this site, if they were here Smashing Pumpkins would have to be here too.

Mer Der Noms and Thirteenth Step are both very good alternative rock albums. Some of their music is really innovative, but sometimes they just sound like a cheap version of Tool.

I wasn't implying that they should be on this site at all. The band sounds quite experimental, there's good musicianship; it's quite proggish.Big smile

They're a great project, but I don't think they're prog. Maybe influenced by prog, but not completely prog.

APC is one of my favorite bands, but i dont consider them as prog, maybe some proggish moments. Thirteenth step could be their proggiest effort, more experimental, more conceptual, the lyrics are really good but i dont know if this is enough to be included here although i find it (13thstep) more prog than some albums of radiohead.

I would say no, just a poppish version of tool and not nearly as good, but they do have some beautiful songs.

Thirteenth Step has a proggy feel to it, but I'm not sure if thats enough to place them here. They sound more prog than Paatos, but I learned that you can't compare those things and expect them to be on PA.

They're like a commercial sounding version of Tool. Nothing really special, but not bad either!

I like Mer De Noms ...but I couldn't have gotten rid of The Thirteenth Step any more quickly than I did. Only liked a couple of songs on there...and no Paz.
